I've been thinking about some Summer activities to do with my kids. I want them to be productive and active and not just lay around watching tv or playing on the computer all Summer.
So far I think I'm going to make a file for each kid with school homework type pages, and even science projects etc. and for each page they complete they get a point. Then have a point chart where they can turn in points for things. Now I just need to find and assemble the pages and put together a rewards chart! Good think I have the Internet and it's endless supply of information and downloads to anything I could possibly want!
I'd also like to plan some family activities such as picnics, camping, day at the park, swimming, etc.
It's times like this when I'm REALLY looking through my old Family Fun magazines for ideas!
I also thought it would be fun to declare certain days such as:
Day of Service- volunteer for something
Treasure Hunt day
Picnic day
Sewing day
Craft day
Painting day
Sidewalk art day
Water games day
Sports day
Lemon-aid stand day
Movie Party day- invite friends over for your own movie theatre
Beautify the yard day
Deep clean day
Tent day
Gingerbread house day
Jell-o day
Specific color day- everything we eat/make etc. has to be that color
Picture day- let the kids dress up and go to different places to take pics
Movie day- let them make their own home movie
Restaurant day- every meal at home is like in a restaurant with menu's etc. ( my kids love doing this! )
Would love some more suggestions!
What do you do to entertain your kids in the Summer- or keep them active?
