Hotel Transylvania DS Game Review
We were excited to review this new DS game based on the recent movie Hotel Transylvania! What a fun Halloween story for kids! We still haven't seen the movie yet, but after playing the game my kids are excited to go see it. If you've already seen the movie, you need to get this game!
So for the game- basically you are playing the part of the daughter of Dracula- "Mavis" who is trying to find her human friend "Jonathan", but it seems that everyone in the hotel has an errand or job for her to do.
As you complete the tasks you learn different abilities that help you along your way. This game is rated E10+, but my 5 year old can play it (he just can't read all the conversations in the game, but after watching me play he knew what to do).
I have to say, it definitely is a game that takes some practice and a little bit of skill and good timing. And those pups!!! Boy do they get into trouble! So far the skill I've had the hardest time with is running up the walls when you have to jump from wall to wall. But I do like that the game saves itself regularly so you don't have to start completely over.
This is a great game for Halloween! I have the feeling it will be a favorite at my house year-round though.
Here's some official information about the game:
Count Dracula’s five-stake resort welcomes you! Hotel Transylvania, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters that they are with no humans around to bother them. Dracula’s beloved daughter Mavis is turning 118 and Dracula has invited a few of his closest friends: Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, and the Werewolf family to Hotel Transylvania to celebrate her special day. Catering to these monsters is a delight for Dracula, but everything could change for the overprotective father when one ordinary guy stumbles through the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
Game features include: a wide variety of locations, puzzles and lots of boss battles. The game offers an imaginative and fun way to interact with the movie characters.
Developed by WayForward Technologies, Hotel Transylvania for Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS is rated “E10+” for Everyone 10 and over by the ESRB. For additional information about GameMill’s line of products please visit: www.game-mill.com.
