We took our kids to see Hotel Transylvania finally- yea I know we're behind the times! Now that it will be available on movie soon (actually I think it already is!). When this show first came out and was being advertised I have to admit it wasn't on my "I'll pee my pants if I can't see it" list... Then we got the chance to review the DS game, that changed things.
While playing the DS game for our review my kids and I fell in love with it! We learned quite a bit about the movie just from the game and it opened my eyes to see past what my preconceived ideas about the movie were.
The movie itself was not at all what we expected (even after playing the game). Dracula wasn't the "bad guy" I thought he would be. And there is a surprising back story for the movie that gives viewers a new perspective on who Dracula is.
I loved how it showed the monsters originally afraid of human's because of their past experience, then see how not everyone is the same and their experiences in the future could be different.
Personally I have to say there were a couple scenes with the invisible man that were my favorite! They had me laughing pretty hard (and I was the only one in the theater laughing!)
This will for sure be a movie we will be adding to our collection! Proof that things aren't always what they seem from the previews!
