Key Lime Rice Krispies
I love finding new products in the grocery store! This time I came across some flavored marshmallows. In the past we've bought strawberry ones, but we were excited to see some different flavors such as: caramel, chocolate, Neapolitan ice cream, lemon meringue, and key lime! This calls for an experiment! What is the best thing to do with marshmallows? Make Rice Krispie treats!
Knowing we were going to be making rice krispie treats I figured the Key Lime flavored ones would be the best.
Here's what the package looks like-
We made them the same way we make our Disneyland Rice Krispies.
2 cubes butter- melted
2 packages of marshmallows
1 small box of rice krispie cereal
(we omitted the vanilla since the marshmallows were flavored)
Pour into a Pam sprayed pan. Let cool (if you have the patience) and enjoy!
These were definitely different! They have a strong key lime flavor, and aren't the typical "sweet" tasting rice krispie treat. If you like key lime flavored stuff you will probably like them.
My kids like the key lime flavored yogurt, but didn't care for these.
For me they were ok, they would be fun to make as a fun novelty party treat like for St. Patrick's Day or something.
Meanwhile I'm trying to think of what else we could use the other flavored ones for- S'mores and Rice Krispie treats are the only things we've used marshmallows for at our house.
