Recently my family has been watching this TV series from the start again. A classic TV show that will both have you laughing and in shock at some of the things that happen, as well as feeling like you are somewhat normal and other parents and families do these things. And sometimes it will just boost your self esteem to know that you and your kids aren't THAT bad! If you haven't seen the show this is what it's about-
So you have this typical (or not so typical) family with 4 boys who are constantly getting into trouble. Boys tend to do boy things and these boys take it to the max! They sent their oldest boy Fransis off to military school because he was so defiant. Then they find out that their 3rd son Malcolm is in fact a genius. And I mean genius- like photographic memory, human calculator, genius.
The boys all tend to have some social skills issues when it comes to having friends, which most of the time you're not surprised because of the things they do and the way they act.
The parents Lois and Hal are hilarious!! After years of marriage they are still madly in love with each other and are frequently doing romantic things for their marriage. And you have Lois as the main disciplinary and "bad cop" with Hal as the fun-loving, "good cop" dad. It's all pretty funny to see how it plays out.
Reese is the second oldest and clearly the most dim-witted. Think no brains, so he compensates with being a bully and beating others up and you'll have him pegged.
Dewey is the youngest (at least for the first few seasons) and this kid not only beats his own drum, he has his own band!

I was trying to find our favorite one- Lois buys a new bed- a king size one and Hal takes it personally as though she's trying to put distance between them. Part of his overreacting rant he says "How long have you found me hideous?!?!" So now that's a common phrase used in our house whenever someone moves to have more room.
The only sad part is this show is no longer on the air. Ahhhhh if only they made good shows like this again!
