Whole Chicken in the crockpot

It's the Summer of crockpot cooking!! This time I tried a whole chicken in the crockpot.  It was super easy and delicious!!  There were a few tricks that I found in doing this that I'll keep in mind for next time though-
Clean the chicken and remove the liver, giblets or anything else that comes inside it that you don't want.  Pat dry with a paper towel and place into your crockpot.

Seasonings:
I cut up 1 small onion and placed it in the bottom of the crockpot
1 large spoon full of minced garlic (I get mine at costco, but you could also use whole or chop your own garlic) inside the chicken
On top I sprinkled: garlic & herb seasoning and a little Italian seasoning

I didn't add ANY water or liquids which I was a little nervous about at first, but it didn't need it.  By the time the chicken was done it had enough of it's own liquid to even make a gravy.

My main mistake was I cooked it on high for 5 hours.......... yea it didn't need that long, so ours was a little flaky/mushy almost.  It probably only needs 2-3 hours on high.

It was literally falling apart getting it out of the crockpot- here's a picture of it on the cutting board.

It had great flavor!!
And since I got the whole chicken for 50% off it was a cheap meal!
