Bottled Peaches

My parents gave me 3 bags of peaches off their trees- and they are the most delicious peaches ever!  So after contemplating for a couple of days how to use these prized peaches I concluded the best thing to do is just bottle them.

I referred to the greatest home canning website http://www.pickyourown.org/  and here's what I did:
Wash the bottles
Blanch the peaches in hot water then put them right into cold water
the peach skins will come off very easily
Then cut the peach into 3-5 slices, remove the pit and put the cut slices into a bowl of water and fruit fresh (or you can use lemon juice)
Put the sliced peaches into the jars. (I add 1-2 pits just for looks, mostly because it's what my grandma used to do)  Fill to 1/2" from the top.
Pour in a hot syrup- I made a light syrup of 2c. sugar and 6 c. water, you can make it heavier by adding 1-2 more cups of sugar, then boil it and pour into bottles once you have them filled with peaches to 1/2" from the top.
Then process bottles in a water bath- since I had quart and pint jars I processed them for the quart time of 35 minutes.  And done!
