Homemade Sausage Egg McMuffin

Ever since my post about fast food places and all the ......extras they put into the food they sell I have a hard time going to them.  I do however miss the occasional McDonald's sausage egg mcmuffin.  So here is my version!  And yes I know, even the sausage and cheese are processed and probably not the healthiest choice, but I'm making changes where I can :)

Using my Tupperware Crystal Wave Mug (specially made for the microwave) I cooked 2 eggs in 80 seconds and they were the perfect size.

The sausage I bought in the freezer section at the store.  It is made to be reheated in the microwave.
English muffins can be bought in the bread section.  For the cheese, it tastes more authentic when you use the American cheese slices that are individually wrapped.  But since I didn't have any of those this time I just melted some shredded cheese on to the muffin.

Once it's all melted just assemble it and you've got your own Sausage Egg McMuffin!

  1. My dad used to work at a McDonald's and there were times that he'd make us egg mcmuffins for breakfast when he was home. The trick? Use the ring from a canning jar, putting it into the pan first and cracking the egg into the ring in the pan!

  2. What a great!! thanks for sharing! Does the egg come out of the ring easily? I guess you'd just spray it with Pam Spray?

  3. I can’t help but drool when I see your homemade egg mcmuffin. It’s my favorite breakfast meal so I might as well learn how to make it on my own. I’ll cook up something much better tasting than the ones you can buy from fast food stores.
