Get rid of fruit flies

With it being the harvest season, we have had more fruits and veggies in our house for eating and canning, which means fruit fly heaven!  Oh my goodness they have been EVERYWHERE!  Every time we'd get a peach from the bowl it seemed 60 fruit flies would show up.  It's time to get rid of the fruit flies!!But how? Is there a way to get rid of them that's not as bad as the fruit flies themselves?  So I turn to trusty (I'd say old, but it's still fairly new) Pinterest!
Although there were a few different suggestions, this is the one that I chose to try.

All you do is put a little bit of apple cider vinegar in a cup (I put about 1/2 a inch in a small cup)
add a couple drops of dish soap

And wait.........

After 2 hours low and behold there were a few dead fruit flies in the bottom of the cup!

The next morning the cup looked like this:

 

See all the little black dots? those are the dead fruit flies!

Here's another picture taken in the afternoon- at this point we threw away the cup and it's little dead pests!

I kept the cup by our sink, the vinegar didn't stink up my kitchen and it only took 1 day to work!

So this Pinterest experiment is Tested, Tried, and given a AWESOME for working so well!
