I like to Move it Move it

Well, it's moving time for my family!  After a very stressful couple of weeks we finally know where we're going and when we're leaving.  And now the theme song for our house is I like to Move it Move it from Madagascar.
Where are we moving to? Pima, AZ.  Never heard of it you say? I'm not surprised- it's a tiny little town about 2 1/2 hours east of Phoenix, AZ.  I must admit at first I was not a fan of the idea of moving there, but as the days went on it seemed that everything was pointing towards and falling into place for us to go there.

We have a place to live that we can even take our 2 dogs.  And come to find out an old friend of mine that I knew growing up (in another small town in Utah) lives just 5 miles away from where we'll be living!  Then my husband had some work fall into his lap since we're moving there, and it just seemed that it is where we need to be.  So as the days go by I have gotten more and more excited!

I LOVE packing and unpacking, I dread however the actual few days of moving the stuff from one place to another and the cleaning, sleepless nights, sore muscles, ok I better stop before I tire myself out thinking about it.  But packing things up when we can get rid of things we no longer need, and then unpacking and organizing things the way we want them (at least until the kids unorganized them).

Last night I made out a list/game plan.  (lists help!)  I broke all the packing up into 4 weeks.  Each week has areas of the house/yard/garage to focus on packing, cleaning and getting ready to move.  So now the plan is to stick to this schedule!!  I can do it!
This week's agenda-
clean out & organize the garage to create a staging area where packed boxes can be stored until we move.
Pack up the hobby/guest bedroom
Pack up the basement hall closet that consists mostly of extra towels, sheets, and board games.

So far so good! I've made some great progress on the garage and expect to be done with what I can do in there by the end of the day Tuesday.  Then on to the other things!

Meanwhile, we're planning on having a yard sale on the 16th, any advice?  I'm hoping to get rid of a bunch of stuff that's already taking up half of my garage waiting for the yard sale.  (and some misc. furniture items)

So in a month I will be an Arizonian! Any cool events, sales, awesome stores, etc. I should be aware of?
