Around our house we try to focus on the true meaning of Christmas. The celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. And that's what the nativity is, so come December there are nativities everywhere around our house! Our entire tree theme is the nativity- all the ornaments I made last year and it's my favorite tree theme ever, and I've had lots of fun ones over the years. This year I wanted to make some other house decorations to go along with our nativity themed tree. Now that I have a silhouette it makes EVERY project easy to do and look professional. Here's some of the fun projects I've made-
This picture is of my door wreath (but not a wreath). It was super easy and cheap to make- I'll write a post on how to make one next week. It's a star with rag fabric wrapped around it, then a sign hanging from it with subway style Christmas sayings and a nativity in vinyl.
Here's a close up of the ornaments on the tree. Some were printed on card stock and then scrapbook paper added, others were stickers put onto decorative card stock, and some were made with vinyl from the silhouette and put on painted blocks or clear ornaments. I also turned some of the blocks from last year into ornaments. See the post here. (these ones also have a little saying for each item so I put that on the other side of the block)
Of course there is my wooden block nativity. And a few other small nativities I've collected over the years. (I have one more big set but no where to put it up in this house so it will stay in the box until we move hopefully next year)
Here are some I cut out in vinyl with my silhouette and then put onto frames from the dollar store.
These ones I put the vinyl on to some painted blocks and added scrap fabric. I made some of the thin wood ones into ornaments.
This is a small banner I made with card stock, twine, and vinyl. I put a couple of them on the tree and this one above where my wood block nativity goes.
And if all this hasn't convinced you to get a silhouette yet maybe the fact that its on sale will!!
