OZ the great & powerful Movie Review

When we first saw the trailers to this movie my husband and I were so excited and couldn't wait for it to come out.  The prequel idea of a classic story is always fun to imagine.  And with today's technology and movie making quality this should be epic.  So we planned a date night to go watch it.
The result was most disappointing for me.  The story seemed to drag on painfully slow, and there wasn't as much action & adventure as the trailers insinuated. The overall story line was ok, so I'm not sure if it needed different actors, better effects, or a different director.  For me on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best I would rate it a 5 or 6.

It is one that is safe for kids to watch, (little to no swearing, no nakedness etc) so maybe they would enjoy it more.  Even the witch scenes weren't that scary.

My husband enjoyed it, which is funny because he's usually far more picky when it comes to movies than I am.  He would give it a 7 or 8 out of 10.

I did like seeing both Rachel Weiss (from The Mummy) and Mili Kunis (from That 70's Show) in a movie together.  I really like both of those actresses and hope to see more of them in the future.

Here's the trailer- which even watching it before I post this makes me shake my head.  Once again, the trailer is cooler than the entire movie haha.
