Tonguespank Spices Review

With a name like Tonguespank these spices are ones that are sure to intrigue you.  We were sent 2 samples to try- the Smoky Bourbon and Garlic Grappa Table blends.  The Garlic one smells great and even my kids liked it.  As big garlic fans we put it in a lot of our cooking from chicken to pasta sauce.  One thing I noticed was just like you can smell the difference in quality when it comes to essential oils these spices were the same.  Just smelling them from the jar you could tell the high level of quality.
The Smoky Bourbon seasoning was not so loved by my kids.  My opinion was neutral on it.  Being that we don't drink alcohol my only experience with bourbon flavoring is the bourbon street chicken at Golden Corral (which is one of my favorite things there).

If you enjoy any of these flavors of alcohol you should definitely try the spice out!

Official information-
Tonguespank Spice Company is a Chicago based company specializing in adventurous and unusual taste blends. The initial series is called "Liquor & Heat" and is based on liquor-infused hot peppers. The blends are chock full of rare peppers sourced from all over the world and are all natural, with no preservatives.

"These are not traditional cooking spices, but condiments meant to replace the old standards of salt, pepper, parmesan, and crushed red pepper at the table. "Best Comparison? Dry hot sauces.

The line consists of four regular blends and one superhot "premium" blend for real chiliheads.

Smoky Bourbon Table Blend
This blend begins with the sweet aroma of smoky morita chipotle peppers, adds depth and complexity with garlic and bourbon, and finishes up with a slow habanero-and-ghost burn that builds. This blend pairs well on eggs, burgers, grilled veggies... anything that can use a smoky heat.

Garlic Grappa Table Blend
Full of Tuscan herbs, alongside the warmth of a balsamic vinegar and Italian brandy blend, this blend replaces the standard red pepper with habanero chilies which kicks the whole combination up a few notches. Try it on pasta or in a marinara sauce.

Citrus Rum Table Blend
A must-try for seafood and pork lovers! Three different citrus fruits combine with spiced rum and cloves to create a tropical combination, with a dash of habanero heat at the end. Another potential use: combine it with sugar around the rim of a cocktail glass.

Wasabi Sake Table Blend
Wasabi has a different burn than hot peppers: more of a sudden explosion and less of a slow burn. But why not have both? This blend combines the up-front hit of wasabi and horseradish with the long burn of habaneros, for a truly powerful combination. Try it on fish or sushi!

Scorpion Bourbon Table Blend
This is Tonguespank’s hottest blend. They start with Smoky Bourbon and turn it up to 11, by using Trinidad Moruga Scorpions, said to be hotter than the current Guiness record holder at up to two million Scoville units (compare that to JalapeƱos at 20,000). Peppers this hot are hard to find, which is why they sell this in
smaller quantities.
