How to patch your pool

This year we purchased one of those quick set ring pools for our kids to enjoy this Summer in the AZ heat.  Unfortunately it wasn't after having it for a couple of weeks that there were holes...... they were made by a combination of a neighbor kid and I'm sure my own kids.  So after taking the water out we surveyed the damage and found multiple holes needing to be patched.  Here's the instructions how to patch your pool should your kids (or neighbors kids) do the same thing-
What you will need:
Liquid cement (I got some at Walmart for about $4)
Duck tape (yea I know it's kinda redneck but the majority of our holes were on the bottom where no one will see the patches anyway)


First you want the pool to be very dry, so empty it out and let it dry for a day or two.

Wipe down the areas where there are holes so there's no dirt that will prevent your patches from sticking. *you're going to attach all the patches to the OUTSIDE of the pool, not the inside so turn it inside out if necessary*

Using "Liquid Cement" pictured here, brush some of the liquid cement glue over the hole as well as on the sticky side of a strip of duck tape cut big enough to fit over the hole.

Wait a few minutes for the glue to set up a little, then stick the tape with glue over the hole with glue.  The instructions I found suggested placing a brick on top to hold it flat if the patch was on the bottom of the pool, however we had so many holes in the bottom we'd have to buy enough brick to section off a garden area!  So we just rubbed the duck tape in as good as we could.

Let the tape & glue dry and set up for at least 12 hours (24 hours is better) before filling the pool with water.

So far so good for us!  Kids have been scolded and threatened so hopefully no more holes occur this Summer.
