23 Blast Movie Review

I was able to watch a early screening of the movie 23 Blast and I can 100%  honestly and with excitement say it's one I would recommend to anyone!  Such an inspirational movie based on a true story.  The story is about a high school boy named Travis that has spent his life devoted to football when an unexpected infection leaves him blind.  This movie is so moving as you watch his struggles and depression at first and his attitude change from one of giving up to determination as he gets the opportunity to play football again.  It even had a few parts that gave me a good laugh!
The movie is rated PG-13, however the entire time I was watching it I kept wondering why.  There was no bad language, no sex scenes or even uncomfortably inappropriate scenes, and there's a religious inspiration and influence throughout the movie.  The only thing that I can see coming close to justifying the rating is it shows the high school age kids drinking at a party and one of the boys at another time.  Interestingly enough though, only the kids with issues drink, I don't remember seeing the main guy Travis drink at all.

After watching it I will for sure have my kids watch it.  We try to teach our kids what a difference attitude can make in your life and this movie has many great examples that I'm excited for them to see and us to talk about with them.
