This Christmas I wanted to make a project I had seen on Pinterest and needed aged or antique looking paper for it. So I went about experimenting on making some of my own. Here's my methods and what the results were. It was actually really easy and didn't take very long at all.
I had read some tutorials online that you can antique paper using tea or coffee, but since I don't have either of those in my house I had to get creative.
I used 3 things- worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and orange juice. (pictured in this order above)
As you can see in the color difference of the picture each one made a different shade so depending on which look you're going for use the coordinating liquid.
What you do is lay 2 sheets of the printed paper onto a cookie sheet. Pour a little bit of the liquid on them and roll it around making sure the whole paper gets saturated with the liquid. Drain off any access liquid (you can reuse it if you're making more antique paper).
Bake at 350 for about 5-7 minutes.
I noticed the worcestershire one turned darker quicker in the oven so you want to make sure not to over cook that one. Basically the oven is just a quick way to dry the paper.
Have fun! Craft on!
You can check out the star ornaments I made with this paper here.
