While on our trip it was St. Patricks Day so we needed hair bows for the girls of course! These little shamrock hair barrettes were perfect for the day of fun, but I have a confession to make about them.... I only partly made them. I kind of cheated-
So about a week before our trip, I was in Walmart and wanted to find a green bow or something for the girls. Being close enough to St. Patricks day already it was surprising how picked through all the green stuff was. But I found these 3 shamrocks with ribbon and feathers loose on top of the display.
Who knows what they came off of, or how much they were. No tags, no sign of anything they could have come off of, but one look at them and I thought they would be perfect! All I had to do was glue a barrette on the back.
So I took a chance and took them to the register with me. I explained how I found them and didn't see what they came from or a price and asked if there was a way I could buy them. The checker (who also happened to be a manager) sold them to me for 50 cents each! Worth it!
So I came home, glued a barrette on the back and we had our St. Patricks Day hair bows :) The girls wore them at Universal Studios- you can see them on my oldest girl here:
