Bountiful Baskets

I picked up my bountiful basket this morning!  If you live in AZ, CO, ID, NV, TX, UT, WA, or WY and you DON'T know about bountiful baskets you need to check them out!!!
It's a co-op where you go online at the first of the week, order your basket for $15, and they usually have other items available too such as 5 loaves of 9 grain bread for $10, or a case of various things such as: corn, tomatoes, peaches, strawberries, etc. at a good price too.
The picture below isn't mine, but one I found on google images someone else got. This is a good idea of what kind of stuff you'll get, and how much!
here's another picture of someones basket continents and a few of the extras they got:

Then Saturday morning you go to the location and time you selected when you purchased everything earlier that week and take a laundry basket or bin to put things in and you will pick up your fresh food!  The baskets are a GOOD deal! at $15 I have yet to get a basket worth less than $20 or so.
For example- this week my $15 basket had:
4 large Roma tomatoes
1 package of strawberries
1 bag of grapes
1 cantaloupe
1 head of romaine lettuce
1 bag of full size carrots
1 eggplant
3 summer squash
6 green bananas
7 pears
7 pulots (had never seen these before BB, they are like plums and very good)
8 ears of corn
I figure this weeks basket would have cost me at least $25 at the store.
Plus I got a 25# box of tomatoes (guess I'm canning this week) for $11.50
And 5 loaves of 9 grain bread for $10- this bread is awesome! it's like high quality bread similar to Great Harvest bread, and at $2/loaf that's a steal! (Great Harvest bread is $4.50/loaf)
All of the produce is good quality- the strawberries today smell soooooo good I can't wait to slice some up in my cereal!
Check out their website!

The baskets usually sell out fast so make sure you know when your area opens/closes!  And they are always opening up new areas, so if they're not in your area yet keep checking!
This is a GREAT way to eat healthy foods! We eat a lot more fruits and vegetables when we have so much laying around! Plus you can join their facebook page to get some cool recipes.  Some items we've got in our basket was the first time I had seen/bought/or cooked them!

***Be sure to check out my post on Tupperware Fridgesmarts these are GREAT with Bountiful baskets because they make your produce last up to 3x longer!*** Talk about a money saver!
