Suprise Stain Remover

This may come as a shock to you, but Dawn dish soap is the best laundry stain remover I have ever used! As a fairly cheap product- especially compared to some of the official laundry stain removers, it's practical.  And I like the fact that one big jug of it can be used for laundry stains and dishes!
All you do is pour some of the downy dish soap right on to the stain, then throw it into the wash with your other clothes and laundry soap.
I was a little worried that the blue dish soap would stain my white shirts more- but it doesn't! I haven't tried the other colors to know if they are as affective as the original blue soap.
My sister went to a class where the teacher used dawn for everything! She'd dilute it in water, put it in a spray bottle and use it as a cleaner.  Now I haven't tried those uses, but I can tell you it removes stains from clothes great!
Also- it's really effective for mechanics and greasy hands! My sweet little mechanic taught me this years ago when I was helping him fix my car. You'd be surprised how messy and greasy our hands were and a little dawn and it all came right off.
Here is a link that lists a few other uses for dawn dish soap:

  1. I do this exact thing with my stained laundry. I don't use the regular blue dawn though so I'm going out on a limb here and just say all Dawn detergent works :) I hadn't even thought about diluting it in a bottle but that is a great idea! I've always been afraid to let the little ones help clean with the cleaning supplies but this sounds like it will work! Thank you for the idea!

  2. Good to know the other colors work! :D
I didn't know until I read dawns website that it's even biodegradable which makes it even cooler!
