Epic Movie Review

Our local library hosted a free showing of the movie Epic.  So I figured I could be a cool mom and take my kids to go see it. (this rarely happens- I'm not that cool) Our family rarely goes to the Movie Theater so it's a treat when we do.  When you have 7 people in your family and Theater admission averages $7/person BEFORE popcorn, drinks and snacks, the cost of 2 hours a movie entertainment gets quite expensive.  Normally what we'll do is wait until the movie comes out on DVD/Blu-ray then buy it for 1/3 of the cost of watching it once in the theater.  Ok, back to the movie review of Epic-
This was a pretty good show.  It seemed familiar in it's story- it reminded me of movies like Arthur and the Invisables, the Borrowers, with a little bit of a Avatar feeling too.

The basic run-down of the story is a girl who's father is obsessed with finding and proving that there are little highly-evolved people living in the woods at the expense of his relationship with his daughter.  Meanwhile in the forest the battle between good and evil ensues.  The little people that are trying to protect the forest from the evil creatures that want to kill the forest are in trouble as their queen (who holds the magic of the forest) is in danger.

The girl- MK, gets a first hand look at the dangers and beauty that exist in the forest for these little people.

This show is full of action, humor, and even some romance.  After seeing it, we will for sure be buying this movie.
