As one of my many ideas to help spread the word on how to live a life of luxury on a budget you can afford here's some clothing buying tips. Summer has only just began, yet it's never too early to keep an eye out for some good back to school clothes sales! It's all about TIMING! For me, I would rather save money by watching for the sales and getting them early than to have to splurge and spend more because we waited until the last minute! One of the best ways to save money when it comes to clothes is by shopping out of season.
At the end of each season stores will put their clothes on clearance. That is a GREAT time to get clothes for the next year for your kids!
I'll never forget when I had my first baby- she hit a growth spurt around 9 months old and almost over night didn't have clothes that fit. We had to do an emergency trip to the store and for almost $100 all we got were a few jammies, onesies and a couple outfits (if we were lucky). So I started buying the seasonal clearances, and by the time she turned 18 months old I pulled out an entire wardrobe I had been buying at clearance prices. When I totaled up the price of what we would have paid if we had bought them then (full price) it was somewhere around $300-400, but then I added up the clearance price that I actually paid and it was closer to $100!!! I was SOLD on the idea!!
As I've had more kids, and lived in different houses it's not always possible to purchase an entire wardrobe a year in advance like that, but I still try to watch for sales and purchase in advance as much as possible.

How did I get such a great deal?
Well, the shirts were originally in clearance for $5.49, which is a great deal by itself, but then I got a 40% off coupon in my email that included free shipping. Because I have a store card I also save 5% off my total just for using my card.
