You have to look in order to find the solution

I just had to share this picture of my baby- she was crying because she couldn't find her baby doll! While playing with her baby doll she accidentally tossed it behind her slightly and after looking around in front of her she couldn't find it and was upset.  This got me thinking- how often in life do we get upset or emotional when we haven't really put forth the effort needed to solve the problem? In order to solve a problem you have to actually LOOK for solutions!
I am a believer that EVERY problem has a solution.  Excuses are only things people use when something really isn't a priority to them.
For every excuse one of my kids give me I'll give them a solution- and after 3 solutions if they're still coming up with excuses it's clear to me that they're not really interested in solving the problem, they just want to use it as an excuse from accomplishing something.

Imagine what would happen if you were walking along and suddenly there was a rope laying on the ground in front of you.  Would you give up walking? Would you turn around?  Would you let that rope keep you from getting to your destination?  Of course not! You'd simply step over it and continue on your way!

Sometimes in life it's a rope, others it's a string, or maybe a log, or even a mountain.  But the point is the same.  You have the choice, to give up and allow whatever obstacle it is to keep you from your goal- or to find a way over, through, under or around it showing that your goal is more important than the excuse of an obstacle.

Friends and family are good to talk to- they can provide perspectives and solutions you may not have thought of.  As long as you're talking to them with a sincere desire to solve the problem, rather than create excuses to validate giving up.

With a great attitude, determination, and desire to solve the problem you will be able to enjoy reaching your goals!
